This SEO e-commerce case study shows how BeeDynamic grew zwillingsduft.ch from a brand-new Shopify store to 7,940 organic clicks, 350,000 impressions, and a top-10 average position — in a competitive Swiss fragrance market.
The Client
Zwillingsduft.ch is a Swiss e-commerce store specialising in premium fragrance dupes — high-quality alternatives to luxury perfumes, sold at a fraction of the designer price. Operating in German, French, and English, the store targets the Swiss market with a curated catalogue of fragrance twins across popular designer scents.
BeeDynamic was involved from the very beginning — designing and building the Shopify store from scratch, developing the brand identity, and implementing the SEO strategy that would give the store organic visibility in a competitive and fast-growing niche. This case study focuses specifically on the SEO results.
The Challenge
Launching a new e-commerce store in Switzerland with zero domain authority, zero search history, and zero brand recognition is one of the hardest SEO challenges there is. Unlike an established business with existing traffic to build on, a new Shopify store starts with nothing — no indexed pages, no backlink profile, no audience signals for Google to work with.
The fragrance dupe market, while growing rapidly, is also increasingly competitive. Search terms like “dupe parfum” and “duftzwillinge schweiz” attract established players with years of SEO history. For a brand-new Swiss store to compete organically, the foundation had to be built correctly from day one — both technically and from a content perspective.
We also had to navigate a multilingual challenge: the Swiss market requires content in German, French, and English, with correct hreflang implementation to ensure Google serves the right language version to the right user.
SEO E-Commerce Strategy
Our approach for zwillingsduft.ch was built around three priorities: technical SEO from day one, content that targets real search intent, and structured data to unlock rich results in Google Shopping and search.
Technical Foundation on Shopify
Shopify has specific SEO constraints that need to be addressed proactively. We configured the full technical setup before the store launched:
- Complete sitemap structure with 13 individual sitemaps covering blogs, collections, pages, and products in all three languages — 736 pages discovered, all with Success status in Google Search Console
- Canonical tags configured correctly across all product, collection, and blog pages
- Hreflang implementation for DE/FR/EN versions, including x-default for international visitors
- HTTPS configured and verified
- Robots.txt reviewed and optimised for Shopify’s structure
- Google Search Console and Google Analytics verified and connected at launch
Product and Collection Page Optimisation
With over 1,000 pages indexed, every product page needed to be individually optimised — not just the homepage. We developed a consistent SEO structure for product pages targeting specific dupe queries: “[designer fragrance] duftzwilling”, “[scent name] dupe schweiz”, and related long-tail variations that real Swiss customers search for.
Collection pages were optimised for category-level queries, capturing visitors at the top of the funnel and guiding them toward specific products. The result is visible in the top pages data — individual product pages like Flamingo Solaire (746 clicks, position 7.1) and Dreamscape (346 clicks, position 9.1) are each generating meaningful organic traffic independently.
Blog Content — Targeting High-Intent Queries
Blog content was a core part of the SEO strategy from the start. Rather than generic perfume articles, we targeted specific high-intent search queries in the Swiss dupe market:
- “Beste parfum dupes Schweiz” — the top blog article, appearing in three language versions (DE/FR/EN) and generating a combined 1,876 clicks and 60,342 impressions across all versions
- “Vanille Antique Byredo dupe” — targeting a specific designer scent query at position 5.5, 162 clicks
- “Top 10 parfum dupes von Zwillingsduft” — brand + category combination, 126 clicks at position 14.9
The blog strategy serves two purposes: it captures informational search intent from users researching dupes before buying, and it builds topical authority in the fragrance dupe niche that strengthens the ranking ability of product pages.
Structured Data & Rich Results
We implemented product schema markup across all product pages, enabling Google to display rich results — product snippets with price, availability, and review information — directly in search results. The data confirms this was effective: 3,195 clicks came from product snippet rich results, with 137,218 impressions and an average position of 10.7. A further 71 clicks came from Merchant listings at position 5.6.
Rich results significantly improve click-through rate for e-commerce — a product snippet stands out visually compared to a standard blue link, giving zwillingsduft.ch a competitive advantage in search results pages.

zwillingsduft.ch demonstrates what is possible when SEO is treated as a day-one priority for a new e-commerce store — not an afterthought once the store is already live.
The most important decision was not a single tactic but a philosophy: every product page, every collection page, every blog article was given its own SEO identity — its own target query, its own optimised title and description, its own place in the content hierarchy. A Shopify store with 1,000+ pages where every page is optimised individually is a fundamentally different asset than one where the homepage is “done” and everything else is left as default.
The structured data decision also paid off measurably. 3,195 clicks from product snippet rich results is not a trivial number for a young store — it represents real customers who clicked on zwillingsduft.ch because their product appeared richer, more credible, and more clickable than the alternatives in the search results.
And the trend is the most encouraging signal of all: +87% click growth in the last 6 months versus the previous 6. The store is not plateauing. It is accelerating.
