The Client

AAB College (aab-edu.net) is the largest private university in the Balkans, based in Prishtina, Kosovo. With multiple faculties, dozens of study programmes offered in both Albanian and English, and thousands of students across the region, AAB represents a complex, high-stakes SEO challenge: a large multilingual website with hundreds of pages, competing in an increasingly competitive digital landscape for higher education in Southeast Europe.

BeeDynamic began the collaboration in July 2025. The mandate was clear: build authority, increase organic visibility, and drive more qualified traffic to programme and faculty pages — without relying on paid advertising.

The Starting Point

When we took over the SEO strategy for aab-edu.net, the site had a reasonable amount of existing traffic — roughly 2,000 organic clicks per month — but significant structural and technical issues were creating a ceiling on growth. The main problems we identified:

  • Domain Rating of 35 — below the threshold needed to compete for high-value academic keywords
  • 4XX errors across multiple pages — 404 and 410 status codes on faculty and programme pages, harming both user experience and Google’s ability to index the site correctly
  • Missing meta descriptions on faculty pages, programme pages, and blog articles — suppressing CTR in search results
  • Duplicate page titles — common on sites with similar sub-page structures, creating keyword cannibalisation and confusion for Google
  • Hreflang not configured correctly — a critical issue for a bilingual Albanian/English site, causing international traffic to land on the wrong language version
  • No schema markup — no structured data for programmes, events, or articles, missing the chance for rich results in Google
  • No keyword mapping — pages competing against each other for the same queries rather than each targeting a distinct search intent

The first phase was stabilisation. We used it to fully audit the site, map every issue, and prioritise the sequence of interventions. The real acceleration began in September.

SEO Strategy: Authority, Structure, Content

Our approach for AAB College was built around three simultaneous pillars — authority building through linkbuilding, technical structure correction, and on-page content optimisation. For a site of this scale, all three need to move in parallel. Fixing only one without the others produces limited results.

Authority Building: DR 35 → DR 51

The most visible early result was the Domain Rating growth from 35 to 51 — an increase of 16 points in a timeframe that typically takes far longer for a site of this scale. This was the result of a sustained, quality-focused off-page strategy targeting relevant and authoritative sources in the educational space.

Domain Trust grew from 28 to 42 (+14 points) and Page Trust from 26 to 38 (+12 points) — both significant improvements that directly strengthen the site’s ability to rank for competitive academic keywords across the region.

Technical SEO: Fixing What Google Couldn’t Read

In the third phase, we focused heavily on the technical issues that were quietly suppressing visibility across hundreds of pages:

  • 4XX HTTP Status Codes — identified and fixed all pages returning 404, 410, and other 4XX errors. The majority were redirected (301) to the correct current pages. This process is ongoing for a site of AAB’s scale, with individual URL issues being addressed systematically
  • Meta descriptions — optimised the majority of missing meta descriptions on high-priority pages: faculty pages, programme pages, and new blog articles. The goal was a measurable CTR improvement, which the data confirmed: CTR rose from 16.7% to 17.4%
  • Duplicate page titles — identified pages with duplicated or near-duplicate titles (common in sites with repeated sub-page structures across faculties and programmes) and rewrote them with unique, keyword-targeted titles. This continued into November
  • Hreflang configuration — audited and corrected the hreflang tags linking Albanian and English versions of each page, and implemented the x-default hreflang for the homepage, ensuring international visitors land on the correct language version automatically
  • Schema markup — implemented structured data for programme pages, events, and articles. Pages using schema markup receive 20–30% more clicks on average due to rich result eligibility in Google search

Keyword Mapping & Content Structure

We built a complete keyword map for aab-edu.net — assigning each page its own target keyword cluster, eliminating cannibalisation, and identifying gaps where new content or new programme pages could capture additional traffic. This map serves as the guide for all ongoing content creation and optimisation, ensuring that every new page or article targets queries with real search volume and registration intent rather than generic informational searches.

“DR 35 to DR 51 in the first three months — for a site with hundreds of pages and a bilingual structure. Authority compounds when the strategy is right.”

Growth Trend

The traffic graph from SE Ranking shows clearly that The first phase was stabilisation, Phase 2 marked the beginning of consistent upward movement as linkbuilding and technical fixes started to compound, and the following months showed a clear, sustained growth trend — with traffic crossing 2,600 clicks and trending toward 3,000. This is not a spike — it is a new baseline, built on structural improvements that accumulate over time.

Month-by-Month: What We Did

the start of the collaboration — Foundation

Full technical audit, keyword mapping, off-page authority strategy launched. Baseline measurement established across all key metrics.

September 2025 — Acceleration

Off-page strategy compound effect begins. First measurable movements in Domain Trust and Page Trust. Traffic begins to rise above the previous stable baseline of ~2,000 clicks/month.

October 2025 — Technical Depth

Heavy focus on 4XX corrections, meta description optimisation across faculty and programme pages, duplicate title resolution, hreflang audit and correction. CTR rises from 16.7% to 17.4%. Average position improves from 10.6 to 8.0.

November 2025 (ongoing)

Full keyword research for every faculty, programme, and article. Completion of meta title deduplication. Schema markup for programme and event pages. X-default hreflang implementation. Continued off-page authority building. Traffic trending toward 3,000 clicks/month.

What This Case Teaches Us

AAB College illustrates something that most SEO case studies understate: the difference between a site that has traffic and a site that has a ceiling removed. Before the start of the collaboration, AAB had roughly 2,000 organic clicks per month — not zero, not failing, just stuck. The technical issues were invisible to a casual observer but visible to Google, and they were collectively capping what the site could achieve.

Removing those ceilings — through authority building, technical correction, and content structure — doesn’t produce instant results. It produces compounding results. The traffic at three months is not the goal. It is the foundation for what month six, nine, and twelve will look like.

For a university, the stakes of organic traffic are particularly high. A student who finds AAB through a Google search for “university Kosovo” or “master programme finance Prishtina” is a qualified lead with real registration intent. Every position gained in the rankings is not a vanity metric — it is a prospective student who may or may not see the university’s name. SEO, for higher education, is enrollment marketing.
